For reliable operation, the junction temperature (TJ) must be limited to a maximum of 125°C. Ambient temperature (TA), thermal resistance (RθJA) , VIN, VOUT, and IOUT all define TJ : TJ = TA + (RθJA × ((VIN – VOUT) × IOUT).
