Figure 25 shows a cascaded arrangement AS1121 devices connected to a controller, building a basic module of an LED display system.

The maximum number of cascading AS1121 devices depends on the application system and is in the range of 40 devices. The minimum fre-

quency needed can be calculated by the following equations:

fGSCLK is the minimum frequency needed for GSCLK;

fUPDATE is the update rate of whole cascaded system.

Where:

fCLK is the minimum frequency needed for CLK and SIN;

fUPDATE is the update rate of whole cascaded system;

n is the number of cascaded of AS1121 devices.
